Another Day at the Beach

We traveled to the coast again for a day with Brian's family. His Aunt Kathy was here all the way from Australia, where she lives. And she loves the ocean! So off we went. It wasn't quite as sunny or warm that day.
Have you ever seen Vilavella? Every 3-5 years they come in with the waves. In the jellyfish family, they get stranded on our shores.

They are pretty though, A deep blue color.
And the whole beach was scattered with them!

Brian's mom and his cousin, Kyle joined us at the beach. I love this random picture. A shot of favorites. Grandma with Norah, Kyle playing music and Brian with his skim board.

Sitting on the Sand

April 13, 2015

After our hike up Cascade Head (see previous post), we headed to Neskowin Beach. One of my favorites. Brian was able to skim board and we just sat and enjoyed the warmth.

She is getting more and more of a personality. We had a doctor appointment yesterday and she weighed 16 pounds 9 ounces and was 25.5 inches long.
She has eaten rice cereal, ground up oatmeal, peas, banana, squash, sweet potato, prunes and some applesauce. No allergies yet! Yeah!!!
Norah is sleeping through the night, goes to bed at 7-8 pm and stays there until 5-6 am. Wakes up to eat breakfast, then usually sleeps for another hour or so. Gets up at 7-8ish and has "second breakfast".  Just like a little Hobbit for those who know what a second breakfast is.

What a lot of fun we are having.

Second Hike for Norah

What a day for a hike. Especially at the coast. Brian, Norah and I decided to play hooky from our lives for a day. Off to Cascade Head. A moderate hike a few miles north of Lincoln City.

The trail was awesome. Everything was such a florescent green!
And then, it opened up to beautiful meadows with a spectacular view of the ocean. (see below)

Can't beat the weather we had either. It almost felt balmy out, very little wind and the sun was delightfully warm. Norah did okay during this hike. She complained a little more than the previous hike we'd been on.

We got her a little white hat to wear against the sun. Worked out perfect because I actually got a little sunburnt on my forehead.

Our first "selfie" as a family!

Our wildlife sightings. A herd of elk.
We also saw a bald eagle. I was pretty happy about that. Felt like I was in Alaska.

He is Risen!

I had a little battle with myself on Easter. It is kind of strange how America has created such a "fashion day". We must dress our children in their "Easter dresses" or other outfits. Why? Does it somehow symbolize the real meaning of Easter? Nope, not at all. I suppose it also symbolizes springtime and new growth and such...As you can see, I gave in. Brian and Gwyndolyn picked Norah's dress for the day. She has a few options in her closet from the various gifts we received from others. And then I had to take her outside and pose her for a few pictures! She is so photogenic! Just takes a little bit to get her to smile for a few shots.

She makes our hearts melt.

I am so thankful for the true meaning of Easter. My life would be so different if Christ hasn't died on the cross and then rose again. He LIVES on. And WE will see Him again if we believe and put our faith in Him.
Slowly I am learning what it means to be a disciple of Christ. I think it is something I will be learning my whole life.

What a gift we have in Norah.

Then, we took her over to some flowers in the park...she wasn't so sure about sitting in these cold green things. But, she survived for a few more pictures.

Afterwards, a little loitering outside while Becky's kids searched for Easter eggs, with candy of course. Love these two.

Fun times with family!

How fun to have family come and visit! Brian's dad came for a visit and took us out to a lovely dinner. Norah got to sit in a high chair for the first time at our table!

Norah was cheerful through most of the meal!
