Бродячие Собаки!!! Brodyachi Sobaki (wandering dogs)

So Wendy and I have wanted to do a post for a long time about the stray dogs out here in Russia. They crack us up a quite a bit, and they all have very distinct personalities. So join us for a quick tour into the life of these roamers who live the high life on the streets.

This plump guy is often strolling around a local park that Wendy and I must go through to get to work. I secretly named him Boris the Brute (but don't tell him). He feeds off of the local high school kids at the Russian equivalent of burrito carts. As you can tell being homeless does not mean you need to miss a meal.

Every so often Wendy and I happen upon a cute little puppy sleeping on the street or more often than not using his cutes to score some grub. How does he do this you ask? Well just have a look at the picture posted above and look into those eyes and tell me you could resist giving a little tasty morsel.

It is amazing to see how dogs when left to their own form packs. This is no doubt due to the wolf ancestry and it seems the only reason more dogs don't pack up is because they have "masters" that won't let them. Wendy and I went for a walk and saw these guys who upon seeing us all stopped dead in their tracks to assess if we were "friend or foe" ... well we didn't have any food so we didn't make it into friend category but luckily for Wendy we weren't considered foes because I (brian) can outrun Wendy and this pack of dogs would have finished her off for sure.

This fluffy shmoozer happened to greet Wendy and I at the metro station, he was quite convincing in getting the food out of our hands and then you will never believe how rude this little grunion was. The food Wendy gave him, he didn't eat, he felt it wasn't worthy of the caloric intake he so carefully monitors on his " Russian Homeless Dog Diet copyright 1991" Well nevertheless he  was cute, but the hardest part is you can't touch them because who knows what they carry? Besides full bellies.
